The Rangers have agreed on a one-year, $8 million contract with former Nationals shortstop Ian Desmond pending a physical, sources told ESPN.

The Nationals extended a $15.8 million qualifying offer to Desmond, but he elected to test free agency. The Rangers must surrender a first-round draft pick to the Nationals for signing Desmond.

The Cubs signed veteran outfielder Shane Vicotrino to a minor league deal Friday with an invitation to big league camp.

Victorino will earn $1 million in base salary if he makes the major league club, with an opportunity to earn an additional $1 million in performance bonuses, an MLB source told ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.

Dexter Fowler has agreed to a three-year, $35 million deal with the Baltimore Orioles, according to multiple reports.

The deal will be finalized after Fowler undergoes a physical with Baltimore.

The Orioles will surrender a pick in this year's draft to the Chicago Cubs as compensation for signing Fowler, who declined Chicago's $15.8 million qualifying offer in November.

Reported over a month ago, the Dodgers' six-year deal with free-agent right-hander Yaisel Sierra became official Sunday.

The Cuba native, who was granted free agency by Major League Baseball in late December, came to terms on a $30 million deal with the Dodgers.

Free-agent right-hander Yovani Gallardo and the Orioles have reached agreement on a three-year, $35 million contract, according to ESPN and media reports. 

Sources told ESPN that there's a fourth-year option for $13 million as part of the deal.

The Cleveland Indians have agreed to a one-year, $5 million deal with Juan Uribe, according to multiple reports.

The 36-year-old may not join the club immediately because of visa issues, according to Buster Olney.

Uribe hit .253/.320/.417 in 119 games for the Braves, Dodgers and Mets in 2015.

The Houston Astros and Evan Gattis have avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $3.3 million contract.

The two sides had a hearing scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

Gattis had surgery Feb. 10 to repair a sports hernia. The Astros said then that he would be sidelined for four to six weeks.

The Texas Rangers will sign Ike Davis to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training.

The New York Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers were also linked to Davis this offseason.

Davis, 28, hasn't been very productive since hitting 32 home runs for the New York Mets in 2012.

Aroldis Chapman and the Yankees agreed Friday to a one-year contract worth $11,325,000, avoiding salary arbitration.

Acquired from Cincinnati in December, Chapman had asked for $13.1 million and had been offered $9 million when the sides exchanged figures last month. The agreement was $275,000 above the midpoint.

The Kansas City Royals have agreed to a two-year, $14.3 million contract with Mike Moustakas.

The deal not only avoids arbitration this year but also buys out his final year.

Moustakas, 27, hit .284 last season with 34 doubles, 22 homers and 82 RBIs while also setting career highs in on-base percentage and slugging.
